As we announced already this week we are publishing a list below which contains the biggest download volumes since we started with “Free Downloading”. Hopefully this will create a better picture about the possibilities in relation to this new way of surfing.

Most customers from this list were contacted and asked about their experiences and also for permission to post their forum nickname in this list.

What you are seeing in this list:

  • What type of subscription has been used
  • Start of monitoring (beginning of calculation period)
  • The volume used before the “large-scale user profile” was reached
  • The volume that was used within the “large-scale user profile” (Large-Scale Use)
  • The total volume used within one calculation period
  • The nickname used at Userbase or TIK if permission granted

Terry Childs, the systems administrator made infamous back in July 2008 when he installed secret backdoor access to San Francisco’s FiberWAN network and refused to give up the passwords, has finally been sentenced to serve four years in prison

Previously:

Apparently, the passcodes recovered by Mayor Gavin Newsom last Monday did not grant administrator access to the entire system as everyone had hoped. Instead, they provided access to a computer at the Hall of Justice that no one was aware of. They also discovered that Childs had set up more than 1,000 computer modems in locked cabinets and other hiding places as part of a network he was building right under the noses of his superiors. Prosecutors now believe that Childs envisioned a meltdown of the entire system that would target supervisors he considered to be incompetent and inferior to himself. And, the best part was that the system was booby-trapped so that routine system maintenance would trigger the destruction of sensitive city records. Child’s hands would be clean—so to speak

And:

According to estimates, the cleanup has cost taxpayers $1 million so far, with an additional $800,000 set aside for unforeseen problems. The latest development in the saga occurred late last month when investigators discovered a mysterious hidden networking device referred to as “a terminal server” that appears to provide remote access to the city’s Fiber WAN network. The password is unknown—but the login is accompanied by a warning message stating: “This system is the personal property of Terry S. Childs

The investigation against Zamunda began in 2006 following a complaint from multimedia streaming company, Amotera BG. In a letter to GDBOP – the Unit for Combating Organized Crime – Amotera director Adrian Tzenov said that films were uploaded to Zamunda without his company’s consent.

However, shortly after the investigation began, Pavlov allegedly sold Zamunda to an unknown individual in Amsterdam and the site’s domain was transferred to the United States. Rumors suggest that the site is now owned by a Syrian.

We cannot stop the website, since it isn’t the property of the two defendants any more,” prosecutor Detelina Iotova told Trud.bg.
