“DPI and systems using DPI technology are increasingly common within telecom operator networks,” notes Simon Sherrington, research analyst with Heavy Reading Insider and author of the report. “A range of specialist vendors sell solutions that use DPI as a base to enable traffic management, traffic shaping, creation of sophisticated charging packages, quality of experience management and improved network protection, and they have been joined by the biggest telecom network equipment providers (NEPs) that are providing similar solutions.”

Shawn Henry, the FBI’s executive assistant director, said critical systems are under increasing threat from terror groups looking to buy or lease the computer skills and malware needed to launch a cyber attack.

However, Cisco officials say they have no plan to move into the latency monitoring space occupied by vendors such as Corvil, Correlix or TS-Associates, adding that these vendors provide more granular data metrics, such as deep-packet inspection to investigate latency and capacity issues at the individual tick level.

Initially, as we shall no doubt see from their reports, these digital medications will quickly reduce the levels of file-sharing bacteria on the Internet.

With these cosmetic successes will come larger and larger doses of the solutions, applied liberally wherever a problem surfaces. But underneath it’s already too late. The smart bacteria have begun to adapt and are disseminating their knowledge from cell to cell, from generation to generation.

The copyright enforcers will quickly learn that in common with the microscopic organisms present in us all, file-sharers have become resistant to even the most-powerful of anti-piracy antibiotics available today. The fightback has already begun, and the potions are being rendered useless.

The equipment is allegedly being used by Syria’s autocratic government to block access to the Internet and crack down on dissidents who have been protesting against President Bashar al-Assad for nearly eight months, the experts and advocates say.

U.S. officials say they are reviewing reports that Syria’s government is using the company’s products. “The issue of Blue Coat’s technology being used in Syria is one that the State Department is taking very seriously and is very concerned about,” said a State Department official who would discuss the matter only on the condition of anonymity.

A senior administration official, also speaking on the condition of anonymity, noted that sanctions restrict U.S. companies from trade with Syria. “Our sanctions provide for some exceptions for certain software,” the official said. “Anything exported that is not covered by exceptions would violate sanctions.”

In two articles he has stated:

  • Europe is in chaos, not because of the justified and hopefully continuing protests of citizens against the power of Big Money, but because of the political dilemma the western world is dealing with;
  • The G-20 won’t support the IMF, printing ‘abstract’ money is of no use anyway;
  • The ECB cannot move forwards or backwards and is left with voicing support for the European banking sector;
  • There also isn’t much the banks themselves can do, other than making clear that the Euro will explode if banks are forced to accept a reduction of value of more than 50 percent;
  • France, US and the UK do not like the Tobin (bank) Tax which Germany and The Netherlands are promoting;
  • It has rained markdowns last week, targeting Spain and France (BNP);
  • Everybody is happy that Berlusconi is still in power, delaying the inevitable exposure of the dire situation Italy finds itself in;
  • European leaders have no choice but to recapitalize the banks and to propose a fiscal union, including the necessary amendments to various treaties. A much more risky venture;
  • The people in Europe are starting to understand that there is only one group which will have to pay the bill;
  • Real solutions to these problems are being treated in the same way as the occupy protesters are being treated;
  • Protesters are not talking about one crisis, they have identified a network of crises. Everything is already out of control;
  • Currently: “Jede Konsequenz führt zum Teufel”. There is not one single easy solution, simply because no one wants to admit he is wrong or responsible regarding the current situation.
  • We have reached a dead end and are strongly divided as to how we can escape from this situation;
  • Germany wants to take it easy, France is predicting war in Europe if a solution isn’t being found quickly. Sarkozy apparently is well aware of the problems with the French banks and the social issues in French suburbs.
  • The internet is buzzing with solutions regarding this situation but none of those are taken seriously because all these solutions put citizens in a central position in stead of the banks or governments;
  • At first, no money was needed because Greece could help itself, then money was needed because Greece needed to be saved. Later on a lot more money was needed because Greece has more problems than expected and now Portugal, Spain and Italy are also about to implode;
  • Meanwhile the CitiGroup’s representative Willem Buiter has said: Even if the EFSF is being increased to 2-3 trillion euros it won’t have the effect of a bazooka, but rather a pellet gun. The problems of the EU Member States are so severe that there’s no immediate remedy for them;
  • Everybody with a bit of knowledge about Europe knows that Buiter has it right. Meanwhile the average Joe is wondering where all this money is coming from.

Fenton Communications was founded in 1982 by David Fenton, an activist who served as a photographer for Bill Ayers’ domestic Weather Underground terror group.

Fenton Communications works in conjunction with the Soros-funded Tides Center that funded Adbusters, which was reported to have started the concept of Occupy Wall Street.

Fenton used the Tides Center to set up Environmental Media Services in 1994. Tides reportedly originally ran EMS’ daily operations.

David Fenton serves on the board of numerous Tides-funded groups, while his firm represents more than 30 Tides Center grantees, as well as Soros himself and the billionaire’s Open Society Institute. Fenton helped to craft Moveon.org’s attacks on Gen. David Petraeus.

An example of the close public relations relationship between Fenton and Tides is the Social Venture Network, which was established and operates as a project of the Tides Foundation, while its strategy is represented by Fenton. SVN’s board has included Tides’ founder Drummond Pike as well as Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Code Pink.

Another group, September Eleventh Families For Peaceful Tomorrows, is an antiwar organization founded by individuals who lost loved ones in 9-11 terrorist attacks. The group’s campaign was coordinated by Fenton while the group was funded by Tides.

Also represented by Fenton is the Win Without War group, which was funded by Soros and Tides.

The more than 100 occupiers were woken from their sleep and forcible evicted, with reports of more than 50 arrests. Police took people’s possessions away.

The police attack came after a peaceful rally at midday yesterday involving up to 1000 people — amid heavy police presence including riot police and police horses and dogs.

When the Occupy Wall Street protests started in New York, the Chinese government was initially critical of U.S. media for a lack of coverage of the movement. However, now that the movement has spread globally, Chinese officials are changing their tune and cracking down on mentions of it.
