Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad continues to investigate the Demmink case, exposing that the former Minister of Justice Piet Hein Donner had been warned by two of his own senior government officials about Joris Demmink’s questionable track record. This happened before Donner decided to appoint Demmink as his Secretary General of the Justice Department.
The newspaper is also citing sources from within the police and justice departments who are questioning the quality and validity of the ‘investigations’ by the Dutch internal investigative service of the government, the ‘Rijksrecherche‘.
According to the sources any suspect of criminal activities would normally be suspended during any serious criminal investigation. Joris Demmink has never been suspended or otherwise been subjected to scrutiny by internal investigative services.
