Van der Sloot murdered a girl in Peru and robbed her of her money. That resulted in a 28 year prison sentence. As he is also the main suspect in the Natalee Holloway murder case, the U.S. would like to see him extradited from Peru at one point in time.
Van der Sloot’s lawyer has now confirmed that the new Peruvian girlfriend of his client is indeed pregnant. Dutch media expect Van der Sloot to marry the girl and acquire Peruvian citizenship. That could prevent him from being extradited as Peru does not extradite its own citizens.
