After reporters Micha Kat and Koen Voskuil dared to go public on the Joris Demmink scandal, reporter Henk Rijkers appears to be the third Dutch journalist who dares to speak out.
During a radio broadcast, he has stated that:
- “Under normal circumstances – and if he wouldn’t have been working at the Justice department – they would have put Demmink behind bars a long time ago”
- “There are witness statements of Turkish boys available online, who can identify Demmink as the man who has raped them and there are statements by law enforcement officers who can confirm that”
- “We have now reached the stage wherein the NRC newspaper is reporting about the great scoop of the newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, but they dare not even mention that there was a hearing in the U.S. last week”
- “I think that the entire case has now gotten out of control…and I think that the Dutch legal system has been put to shame because of this ordeal”
