Jimmy Savile at school ‘as freely as he wanted’
A FORMER pupil of a Staines school involved in the Jimmy Savile child abuse scandal has questioned how he was apparently given free rein of the establishment.
Savile was said to have carried out sex attacks on children from Duncroft Approved School for Girls during the 1970s.
Jeni Hooker, 54, attended the institution between 1972 and 1975 and was one of a number of pupils to appear on the Clunk Click television show with Savile and convicted child sex offender Gary Glitter. She told the Herald & News exclusively about her memories of Duncroft and has called for a full investigation into how and why Savile was able to visit and take girls away as he pleased.
“I would like to know how Jimmy Savile was able to get away with it for so long. I can remember him taking the girls out [from Duncroft] in his car. He was allowed to drop in as freely as he wanted.”

Jimmy Savile: Newsnight producer is nephew of abuse school headmistress
BBC journalist Meirion Jones is the nephew of Margaret Jones, who was headmistress of a school where Savile is said to have preyed on young girls. Rochelle Shepherd, a former pupil at Duncroft approved school, said on camera that Savile fondled fellow pupils and has reportedly also asserted that Mrs Jones must have known about his behaviour.
